Hello from Mips!

Hi, I'm kenko and I work as an illustrator at a videogame company. I've wanted a chinchilla for a couple of years now, but due to a lot of moving around the country was never able to do so--until now! This forum has been incredibly helpful and informative--thanks to the advice I recieved from the members here, I was able to set up my FN to be as comfy, fun and safe as possible for Mips!

This is Mips just a few hours after he arrived at our home this morning--he's already shaping up to be an adventurer and a real cuddlefish--he immediately popcorned all around his cage, and then when I reached in to get him accustomed to my hands, ran straight up my arm onto my shoulder and snuggled right in! He seems to have tired himself exploring and is now snoozing away in his wood hut

My guess is a dark hetero ebony? The guy I got him from just said he was "black"--but he definitely doesn't have the white tummy like a Black Velvet would.

Oh okay. I just wondered because like you said, I couldn't see a white belly, and he is really dark. I really admire his color!

What a handsome boy you have!! Do you enjoy your line of work? I wanted to go to school for 3d animation, however couldn't draw to save my life and unfortunately they require a portfolio. So, Web design and development degree - here I come!
