Hello from Michigan

Hi Chin and Hedgie Friends My name is Andrea...I have been using the forum for about a month now and thought is was time to introduce myself. I am a veterinary technician and have worked in the veterinary field for 20 yrs. I am currently not working as a vet tech as I am going back to school to be a Agriculture and Natural Resource Teacher. I am doing a Post-Bacc Teaching Certificate Program to add to my Animal Science Degree. My family and I live on a farm in Saline, MI which is just a little south of Ann Arbor. I have 2 children Wyatt age 13 and Sydney age 10. We share our house with 3 German Shorthair Pointers, 2 cats, and 1 rabbit that lives in our barn. We added our Chins just over 2 weeks ago and they are very spoiled maybe more than the dogs. The Chins are 8 months old and are a TOV Ebony named Cheech and a Mosaic named Chong. My kids participate in 4-H and share my passion for animals. I had a Chinchilla 13 years ago and it lived quite a long time. Boy have things changed from when I was a first time Chin owner. Glad I found this forum before I brought our Chins home...I would have been doing everything wrong. Now I am constantly making sure they are being taken care of properly. Thanks to all who have answered my threads and helped me get off to a good start. I have posted and album with our newest family members in my profile. I look forward to learning as much as I can about Chinchillas and getting to know all of you.

Welcome!! You have quite a family! Natural Resources sound pretty neat, my brother took that route initially and now does fire management and forest protection (Forest Fire Fighter).

If I did the picture album correctly it is in My Profile. It was there when I view my profile. Let me know if you find it otherwise I did something wrong. I don't know how add pictures to threads yet.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I do have a part time job as a Pet Food Demonstrator. I work for MidWestern Pet Foods and their products are a Earthborn (a holistic food), ProPac, and Sport Mix. I really enjoy learning about nutrition for all animals and educating people about it. I find the the Diet and Nutrition threads very enlightening.
