Let me introductions us :)

Our story is a little bit unusual because my chinchilla Elvis and me we are both from Ukraine (it is the East Europe).
We have been living here since 2007 year.

Elvis is my favourite pet about 3 years.
We have a very good friendship and I just love him very much!:heart3:

I am going to get a girlfriend for him, but in Illinois are few breeders only and so I was not lucky in my searching yet, but I still hope :)

Here he was the first days with me. He was 7 months old

He is now

I've just discovered this picture yesterday again and I was very happy to see my boy so small once more :) :)

 Hi and welcome to CnH :)

Elvis looks lovely - and a well traveled fella too. :D

Welcome to C+H, to the U.S. and Mundelien, IL!! I lived there a few yrs. ago, on Pleasure Drive, by Diamond Lake!
There's a few breeders around here, P.M. me for a list! I've a few, myself!
Before getting him a "girlfriend", you should read as much as you can in the breeding section, as it's not all that glorified - especially is there's problems!
Did you bring your chin from the Ukrain? Is he pedigreed? If not, where's he from?

Welcome to CnH! :)

There's a whole breeding section on here for you to research the aspects of breeding.

Rick, I think you missed the first part of Ingread's post :winkers:

Rickman,
my Elvis is usual chinchilla, but special for me that is way I've brought him to here.
I do not leave friends!
I've read a lot about breeding before making a decision to get a chinchilla female and I am still learning this question, thank you for advices :)

Yeah - I missed that, can't imagine the problems bringing him into the U.S. - guess I was a little excited about me having lived there! Sorry!

Rickman,
you should ask my husband about bringing my chinchilla into the USA. He can say a lot about this .... :) :):winkers:

Frankly speaking, it was almost impossible and extremely expensive...:err: but I am very glad he is here

Hello Ingread--I'm a huge fan of Elvis--of the human variety--you're Elvis is a cutie as well. Welcome to you both. Please make sure to post some delicious Ukrainian recipes for us in the recipe section!

:welcomewagon: Your Elvis is a very handsome boy! I got my 2 chins from a very good breeder in Crystal Lake (about 20 miles west of you). She is also a member here.

Ingread - There are many excellent breeders in Illinois, Starleomach above is one, Dawnna of Chocolate Chinchillas is another. I know there are others, but I don't have them right off the top of my head. I'm sure Kristy could help you out if she doesn't have what you are looking for.

Welcome to CnH. :)

Welcome Ingread! What a journey that must have been for you and Elvis to come to the U.S!! Elvis is very handsome and will make a charming suitor for some lucky chin-lady! You sound like you know what you are doing, but if you have any questions or concerns, please ask...there are a lot of wonderful people here that can offer lots of advice. :)

Thank you for your welcome and attention to us.
I never doubted that chinchillas' owners are one of the most wonderful people in the World and I've made sure once again :)

I am very glad to find out that in my state are a lot of friendly chinchillas owners.
I do like this nice site and I hope to be a part of your big chinchillas family ;)
