I just saved 2 nutty chins . the owner moved to a new place and had to get rid of them. My one freind knew i wanted 1 so of course she called me .
I named them Flo n Eddie ..... only had them for a couple days and they seem quite happy . Eddie seems to be talkng to me alot . do they always talk?:hmm:

Welcome! :)

Some chins are very talkative, others you never hear a peep out of. It just depends on their personalities.

You are so nice! I am sure they are happy with you! I am thinking of fostering one chin that the owner doesn't want any more. I would like to see their pics some times. Welcome!

Im sure 'll have more Questions !

Thanks for the warm welcome :thumbsup:My one friend has 3 , but everybody says something different ..food....treats...bedding...
List of what I have now ;
Kiln dried Aspen bedding
Kaytee Fiesta Max for chins
Kaytee Natural Timothy Hay (WHAT A MESS) lol
Raisins, cheerios, and tp holders (never run out of them)
2 Humongus gages with all the fixins
2 Log houses for sleeping
wooden blocks hanging all over..........

Like I said I will have more questions.... And when I figure out how to upload pics you will see Flo n Eddie

awaiting to hear more from all ! I'm in Hamilton, mercer co NJ

Welcome fellew NJ person. I live quite close to you - so does Michelle. You live 'betwen us'. First you have to get your chins on much better food. Kaytee Fiesta is probably the worse food you can use. It is loaded with junk (dried fruit in particular). Raisins are very bad also (all dried fruit is). Get Mazuri. You can get it at Rosedale Mills in Pennington. They have large bags and smaller bags. You can also get good timothy hay there (Oxbow) Also remember that any treats should be severly limited. A piece of Cheerio per week is ok. A better treat is the spoon size shredded wheat (not frosted). Sugar is bad for chins. Also all the apple wood they can chew is fine

Hi and welcome! Congrats on your new chins. I agree with Barb about Fiesta being a terrible food. Gradually switch over to a healthier choice of mazuri, panr, oxbow... Raisins should not be given. Hay, apple sticks, plain cheerios and plain shredded wheat are all exceptable. The hay and apple sticks should be plentiful. We really do need to see pictures...we will pout until then!

personally I would 'cold switch' to a good food, Feista is that bad. I have done it several time with rescues that come in and are on Feista with no problems other than the chin was mad for a few days and picked at the food and ate more hay. After a couple days, they ate it with no problems
