Hello! My name is Vanessa and I am a hedgehog breeder from British Columbia, Canada, locally known as Happy Hedgies.

Even though hedgehogs cannot be shipped by plane from the U.S. to Canada, we have taken the time to travel to the states by car to inquire our quality, established breeding herd and bring them across the border legally :) There isn't many hedgehog breeders that ship in Canada and we only live 10min from the BC/Washington border, so it's much faster and closer this way.

We are very happy with our hedgehogs. They each have their own personality and character. Everyone of them is very special to us.

We can't wait to get in gear with the CnH community to learn more!

Hi Vanessa! I'm basically just down the street from you. I live just on the other side of the border. I'll have to come see you when I want a hedgie some day :)

We are happy to have you here!

Hey Jenn - thank you! We only live 10min from the Sumas crossing. And Im sure bringing a hedgehog from Canada to the States is a lot easier than bringing them into Canada. To bring them into the states all you need is a health certificate, but to bring them into Canada you need the health certificate, a vet to meet you at the border to check them and make sure they arent on the endangered species list. We never have to worry about.the endangered thing though...hahaha!

Also thank you to everyone else for the warming welcome!

You can visit our website www.happyhedgies.webs.com if you want to view our hedgies!

My husband actually works at the Sumas border! But he inspects the semi trucks and works very little with the cars crossing. We'll have to make it your way one of these days. I would love a hedgie. Maybe when my gerbils pass on I can convert their environment over to a hedgie home...hmmmm! lol
