Hello everyone,
I'm a new owner of a 6 week old salt and pepper hedgie (Quilly Nelson)!! I've been wanting one ever since I can remember and now that I am up in my 20's I figured it's now or never :))

I do have a couple questions to anyone willing to answer!! I bought him a heat lamp because my boyfriend tends to keep it pretty chilly in our house (about 68 degrees) does the heat lamp need to be left on continuously??

Also I know they can eat a lot of people food as treats but what are some of their favorites???

Thanks :))

Welcome to you and Quilly Nelson :)

Quilly will need supplemental heat if the house is 68F. You'll want to get a thermostat controller (like this: http://www.bigappleherp.com/BAH-1000-Thermostat Or this:http://www.petco.com/product/108340/Zilla-Temperature-Controllers.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch) and plug the heat lamp into it. Make sure your heat lamp doesn't emit light, so something like this: http://www.bigappleherp.com/Big-Apple-Black-Infrared-Ceramic-Emitters?sc=2&category=13 And NOT this: http://www.petco.com/product/111468...eat-Lamp-Value-Pack.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch because Quilly will want it dark at night.

Also I know they can eat a lot of people food as treats but what are some of their favorites???

Thanks :))
Scrambled eggs (cool them first), banana, watermelon, unseasoned cooked chicken (cool it first), apple (cut into little pieces)... NO grapes. Grapes and raisins can be quite deadly.
