My Chin has been so picky about her hay lately. She never used to be. She has always had Timothy hay and has always loved it. Recently, I noticed we got a bag that had a whole different aroma to it and she wouldn't touch it and since then has been really picky. This hay is organic and comes from a very reputable company that has been around for a very long time. I took it back to my pet store where I always get it from and he said it was just a different cut. I don't understand the difference in cuts. Could the cuts be what is making the difference for her? I do know that my chin likes the darker leafy parts and the dried flower parts of the hay best so I don't know if this if this pertains to a part of a cut or not. The brand of the hay I use is Sweet Meadow and it is grown at the Sweet Meadow Farm in Sherborn, Massachusetts. I live here so it is always fresh at my pet store. They offer the Timothy in organic, regular and herb. I've done organic and regular and she's picky now about both. I'm going to try herb. But any suggestions would be great. I just don't know why all of a sudden she just so picky about her hay.
Now, chew sticks. She's very picky about her chew sticks, too. She'll only chew on the sticks I get from the same place I get the hay, Sweet Meadows, where they grow their own Apple Sticks. Problem is, she only likes the really thin sticks and every box has only a few of these and then mostly big thick sticks. I've tried many other small types of chew toys and other brands of store bought sticks but she doesn't like them but is there anything naturally out in the wild in my own yard that is safe for her? She doesn't seem to like store bought stuff and all the natural stuff is hard to find and really expensive. Between all the bags of unused hay and sticks left she won't chew, she's going to have to get a part time job :). Any advice would be great! Thanks for any advice. Now if I could just get those hermit crabs leash trained! :)

I just bought some of the herb hay from Sweet meadow along with their alfalfa , it has not got here yet. I have had a strike here also with hay, they only want Fuzzy Kingdom hay and she has been out of it until recently, I use oxbow and APD and they will NOT touch it so I also have been wasting time and money on hay! I recently got really lucky and scored a load of twigs, in the past I bought twigs from Ronda and mine liked them

I use the mulberry twigs and sticks from my own mulberry tree out back!! My chin, Cyrus, LOVES them!
