Havahart cage clips?

I have a bag of these and the Havahart special pliers, but don't have instructions on how to use the pliers to correctly close the clips. Does anyone have any experience using these? I can't find instructions on their website (in fact, I can't find the product on their website, tho it is still available for purchase at a number of places) so perhaps they have discontinued it?

I'd sure appreciate some kind of visual aide.

Are they J shaped clips or rings?

Just put them in the pliers, parallel to the teeth, and squeeze over the two pieces you're trying to put together - maybe pull-off and squeeze again to close completely!!

Put the arched j part in the 2 prong side of the pliers and the straight part in the one pronged side. Then just clamp them.

I got it now. We thought that was what we were doing, but we were putting it in wrong. Now I see that the entire flat portion needs to rest along the bottom part of the pliers. We were putting the curved portion in with the top part of the J sticking up and out, and trying to squeeze the lower portion closed alone, and thinking it was a two step process.
