Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day and that all your food turns out perfect. I was very worried yesterday after suddenly realizing that I had forgotten to take the turkey out of the freezer. It spent the day, wrapped in plastic and thawing in my bathtub.
All is well and it is now soaking, without the plastic, in a big pot of saltwater brine on my back porch.
What is everyone else' favourite way to prepare their turkey, I find soaking it in brine makes it so flavourful and moist.

Thanks Caroline! Years ago I remember my mother and I laughing while bathing one in the sink for quite a while and then heading off to church all the while laughing at how we forgot the bird. ( it was a Christmas turkey)

I have never brined one. But I have ate brined. They are good!
I use sea salt ground fine. I don't measure. Just use a light amount and rub under the skin. Then spray Pam grilling spray on the body and rub paprika over that. Throw it in the roaster pan and cover with foil and cook until done. I'm not the kind of person who has to have that golden bird on a plate. I cook mine for moist meat. Since I only cook for three I don't buy a whole bird. Just the breast. And the finished bird doesn't have a crisp skin. I cook it this way to have a super moist meat.
