hair ring question

I have only males....do I need to check for hair rings? I thought they only got them when they mated?

I hope that isn't a stupid question...I just really thought that's how they got them so I never thought to check since there aren't any girls. Let me know please

You need to check for hair rings even if a male is not with a female. Males hump each other plus they can get hair rings even if they are caged by themselves.
