great way to wake up in the morning...

i had to be up extra early this morning due to street cleaning, so i got up, ready and ran outside. when i look at my car, its kinda tilted to the right.... thats when i see not one, but BOTH tires on the right side were about a puff away from being flat. i called my husband about 50 times until he woke up to come help me, and when he got down he realized the problem. someone stole the caps off of my tires!!! WHO DOES THAT? seriously? can someone not waste the 5 minutes it takes to buy them for 50 cents? they just have to be selfish and ruin someone elses morning.
so i had to drive to a gas station around the corner on two soft tires to fill them up and go to auto zone to buy caps. it was NOT the way i wanted to spend my morning.

That sucks! It probably has little to do with how cheap the caps are and lots to do with how mean and stupid some people can be...

people really can be stupid. its just frustrating having to rush around before work, only to rush around when you get to work!

That stinks! I've had the hubcaps stolen off my tires twice in one week when I lived in Chicago. On another note, I don't have any caps on my tires (lost them when I took them off to put air in all the tires about a year and a half ago) and my tires haven't gone flat. Did they let the air out of them as well?

geez! i never thought of that. both of them were on the verge of being completely deflated. i guess someone would have had to empty them? i was always under the assumption that the air would trickle out. im so confused now! who would do this to me! :banghead:

I don't have caps on most of my tires either, and the air is still in there. The person who took them must have been a butthead and let the air out as well.

you guys are correct. i took the new ones off just to test it... and sure enough... no air leaked out. im really bummed someone would do that to me. granted, i dont live in the BEST neighborhood, but i never though people would stoop down to airing out the tires of someone they dont even know!

Probably just some kids being dorks. But yea, just taking the cap off doesn't let the air out. =) It's easy to use a knife to let the air leak out, just be thankful they didn't slash them!

Some people need to get lives. I'm sorry thathappened to you. We had some punks come by and steal the Cadillac symbols from my parents vehicles, among otherthings. Police said teens like to do that and hang their "prizes" around their necks..... ?? Some real winners in this world.

ive thought about it. or rigging something to shoot mace at their face.... just seems like alot of work. for now i painted my caps pink with my nail polish... maybe that will deter the little punks!

I'm sorry about your day. That really is the worst way to start it off. I had someone steal the plastic caps off my tires too. I knew they were stolen and not just loose and fell off since they were taken from both right tires. Painting them pink is a good idea tho! lol

isnt it just annoying? i got the nail polish idea from my recently passed Grammy. EVERYTHING she ever owned had her initials in pink nail polish.. her cane, her reading glasses... even her dentures. she even painted the power button on her TV with it. i used to make so much fun of her when i was a kid, but now i see the method to the madness and i love it!
