Hi guys, well I took my baby to the vet and he is fine! Vet said possible irritation from hay or ??. This is from my previous post with the hair loss around eye....anyways she also mentioned that the pine shavings I use cold also have possibly irritated it, she recommended Care Fresh. I have heard no so many good things about the type of bedding and my babies have used this type of pine shavings since babies. What do you guys feel about the carefresh products and should I switch??

Is aspen softer than pine?? The vet actually said to let him bathe more often.?? I let them bout every other day to every two days.

IMO aspen is softer than pine. Also, depending on the humidity in your area & inside your house is how I determine the dustbaths that my chins get. For instance, we had had TONS of rain this past week and some a few weeks before so the humidity has been hovering around 40-45% where my chins are. Yet I will only give them 1 dustbath, maybe 2 tops, a week.

If you use blue cloud dust, the first thing I would do is switching to blue sparkle.

I tried switching Luna to carefresh to help with my husband's allergies, but she decided that she wanted to eat it. I promptly removed it from her litter pan and went back to aspen shavings. If you try the carefresh, just keep an eye on your chin to watch if he eats it.

Exactly what chinchiq said. My chins used to use carefresh since i got them and never ate it, however i found it was getting expensive and switched to harlan aspen bedding instead. But if you don't mind paying a bit more, carefresh is great as long as you don't catch them eating it!
