Granite/Marble/Ceramic Ledges - Slippery?

In the process of planning and gathering supplies for our coming chin I've been thinking about ledges.

Has anyone ever used Granite/marble or any other ceramic as their ledges?

Are they hazardous?

My thought was to install ledges with poo guards and either make them to fit granite tiles or have the tiles cut to fit the ledge. So the slab would just sit on the wooden ledge with the higher guard in the back to hopefully keep the debris in.

I used to have a majority of the shelves in one of my cages covered with granite. They have padding on their feet similar to our skin, it provides good traction and they do not slip all that much. I never noticed/had any problems with my granite shelves.
