Previous I posted on what type of water bottles everyone use and how to clean them. Well I purchased all glass water bottles and seemed to be working well except two of my chinchillas are not getting water out of the bottle. Thought maybe the tube the water comes out of is blocked, but when I put my finger there and push a little water comes out. So then I tried one of the bottles that one of the other chinchilla was using with no problems and the two chinchillas are still not getting water. Good thing I did not throw out the plastic bottle yet.

My question is, has anyone else had a problem with the glass bottle that some of the chinchilla have problems using or any suggestions on what I can try to make it easier for them to get the water out.

Thank you in advance.

What type of water bottle is it? Is it the Super Pet one? If so, you need to leave at least an 1" gap of air at the top and then shake it when you put it in the holder for them to drink so that the vacuum is right in the nozzle.

Also make sure the bottle is not tipped and is properly upright, or the ball valve will not fall down properly.

But if I understand correctly, if you run your finger over it, water comes. If so, the bottle is working fine and it's possibly your chins are just playing with it.

Thank you. Yes, they are the Super Pet Bottles. I will try leaving the 1" for air and shake and make sure it is upright.
