My girls went in for their first checkup, both have had occasional watery eyes.
My vet prescribed ofloxacin drops 3x a day for both eyes for both girls.

We're managing to do it, but they hate it, we're having fur slips and they're more suspicious of us.
I've only had them a few months and they're rescue girls, so they're not entirely comfortable with people anyway.
Tips or suggestions?

Pick up by tail place chin on blanket tightly wrap one side of blanket over chin then completely roll the other side around chin. Burrito/taco style, makes things a bit less stressful when they can't squirm around and freak out when u put the drops in. Makes things go a lot faster. Talk sweetly make it fast and give em a treat after helps make it more tolerable.

I would not pick up a rescue by the tail like that, they already have enough trust issues but that is just me and how I deal with rescues, I don't do anything that makes me appear to be a predator.

When we deal with eye drops, we first make sure to have the chins perch along a forarm with the tail hold. This keeps the chin secure without binding. It's a two person job, so while one is holding, a second person can scritch and gently grasp the ear and hair just above the eyebrow between the thumb and pointer finger. Grasping by the ear keeps the head still and opens the eye. See the following video link for reference.

I love the idea and the video...when I tried it I ended up covered with scratches and chin hair and I got bitten several times...

So far what's worked best is having someone hold them against their body and then sort of tilt from side to side so we can do drops. They hate it, but it's mostly working.

I'm just terrified I'm destroying any trust they had in me.
