I have my son's T-Ball pants, and no matter what I do after a game, I can't get the dirt / clay off. I can't get them white. I pre-treat with Oxiclean, and use a Tide brush to start, wash on cold with detergent and bleach. I do this twice before I give up. This is why I don't wear white... Anyone know what else to try?

I don't remember off the top of my head what we use, it's in a blue bottle though. I washed 3 times this time, and it came out better. I have one of those new front loader special low water usage machines, and it's weird all the things you can't put in it. Sigh.

I've had pretty decent luck with Biz liquid- soak in Biz (maybe in the sink?) overnight and then wash. I usually just do it in the washing machine, but I have a traditional washer (top load) and just put in the Biz and the ball pants, let it fill up with water and agitate just a few times. Then I open the top of the washer and let it stand overnight. In the morning, I close the lid and when they come out of the washer, they're generally clean.

Now, I will say that I do pretreat and rub the pretreater in by rubbing it together between my hands really well, before I stick the pants in the washer. I usually pretreat with Oxiclean spray.

And whoever thought white baseball pants were cute.....I have a message for you.... You're

Yeah, white is so bad for them, especially at 5, when they play in the dirt more than actually play ball, lol. I also have a bad feeling football pants will be white, too. Grrrr. What is Biz? Is that in the laundry aisle?

I'll ask one of the people at the stadium if they have any suggestions. Our team's uniforms are always nice and bright white.... for about the first inning or two.

Hahaha, ours don't make it till the beginning. They dive into the dirt as soon as they get there, or see ducks, which ever comes first.

Biz is indeed a detergent.....http://bizstainfighter.com/

When Pierce started playing ball - he was designated to "play pitcher" which entailed him standing in the circle behind where the coach pitched the ball from. Well....he didn't much like this position - apparently. He literally played in the dirt/sand more than he played baseball. I remember saying to him during a game, "Are you making sand castles or are you playing baseball?"

ETA - after doing some research - I'm finding many places are recommending either Cascade (dishwashing detergent) or ESPRO and it's available at Hibbett Sports stores. I may just have to pop into the Hibbetts here tomorrow and see how this stuff works next week after their game... Hmmmm....

ETA again - learned something...red clay dirt is composed of iron, which turns to rust - then found lots of reviews of a product called Iron Out for removing red clay stains. Might be onto something there....

Haha, I'll look for Biz and try it foor his next game. Let me know how the other stuff works, too. Thanks.

It works really well! We have a ton of red clay here and thats what my mom used to get the stains out of my uniforms for all my sports and other everyday nature excursions.

I don't know if this will work, and I'm not even sure of the name of it but I find in Walmarts in the stain removers section. It's called something like Brighter Whites or something like that. It's suppose to help whites become more whiter.

Is it something that you cant bleach? I use "Shout" stain fighter and it gets out most stains. Then when all else fails I get out the Clorox Bleach. I always wash things that Ive used bleach on very very well. I hate the smell of it but it works wonders.

Here are some helpful links on using bleach for your laundry:

I hope that helps!

Lol, I've tried washing 2-3 times with detergent and bleach, and still not white white.
