evening people, i'm new to the forums but i'm having a few problems with my chinchilla. i've recently put him into a new cage because his hold one was messy and old.
but now ive found that he has no fur on the end of his tail and his inner toes on both feer have no fur on either, i'm putting this down to stress but i'm wondering wether i'm right or wrong really.
any advice would be great.
Dan

Is the fur around the area wet like he's chewing it, or is it just missing like a fur slip?

If I'm not mistaken if it's dry, the fur is completely missing, and there's no signs of redness/irritation then it's probably a fur slip, which will eventually grow back (In my experience tail fur grows a lot slower then body fur) What kind of cage is it? Is there anything in there that the tail fur could have possibly gotten caught and pulled out on? If there is any irritation or other abnormalities someone else might know what it is, but I've thankfully never dealt with anything like that.

theres nothing to my knowledge that the fur can get caught on, thanks for your help anyway, just hope that someone reads this and lets me know whats going on wether i have to worry about it or not. thanks again

i wouldnt say so, i'll try and get photos but he does really stay still when he's out.
