Friends Guinea Pig

So my friend informed me thru myspace that her guinea pig is breathing funny and not eating as much. I asked her if she has taken him to the vet and she said cant i dont have any money, to which i replied did you at least call the vet and ask for some tips.she said no and that if he was still like this tonight then she would :yuck: i imgaine that poor little guy wont make it. I dont have anymoney to take her pet to the vet

A lot of times if you speak with the vet prior, they are willing to work out a monetary payment over a period of time. I have had times in the past where I had a sick pet but no money and the vet was willing to work out a deal with me. If the vet genuinely cares about the well-being of animals, they will see your friend's guinea pig and work out a payment plan with her. If not, it's time to get a better vet. Have her call her vet asap and see if they will work with her.

Maybe have her check out Care Credit (carecredit.com) - it's like a credit card you can use for health-care expenses (human and pet) and if you qualify, you can get 0% financing for as long as you make all the monthly payments on time...

Guinea pigs are very prone to upper respatory problems. I hope the guy gets the vet attention he needs.
