The American Pet Diner food just arrived last night. Quite a bit of it. Its 8/2014 now and the EXP date the bag is listed as 7/15; so roughly 11 months. Does that mean the food no longer HAS any nutritional value by 7/15, or is 7/15 when the nutritional value will START to degrade?

On the bag it also says for storage - Tip: To keep these pellets fresh, store in a cool, dry and dark place. Be sure to reseal after each use. Refrigerate or freeze to extend pellet life.
Wouldn't refrigerating or freezing be the opposite of a cool, dry place? Does freezing rly help? If so, what about long term freezing?

Due to a slight miscalculation, i ordered 10 2.75lbs bags, and they threw in an extra. So i have 11 bags that are listed to expire in 11 months. And only two of my chins eat this food. Considering the price, i would hate to waste any of it.

Not 100% about the APD food, but I believe food is good up to 6 months from the mill date. Not sure how that works with APD food since it is bagged smaller.

You might search Freezing Food or something similar as I believe there are several thread/discussions about that.

i have no idea.
What i do know is that i have 11 bags of feed which i will likely not be able to use by the exp date in 11 months and most certainly couldn't use in 4-6 months if that were the case. So if anyone has any knowledge of the subject, i would definitely appreciate it!

Edit: I sent an email to ADP asking about it. But they haven't returned the last few mail questions i sent them. So im not expecting they will this time either.
