So, this a continued post from my previous. I wanted to start a rescues, I got some advice from others on here who have done it, and they suggested fostering. I thought that was a great idea, so I started looking for rescues in my area. Sadly there are none in PA, however, there is one in Maryland, about and hour and a half from me, I've contacted them and am now waiting to start the process. :) thank you to everyone for the advice. And wish me luck.

Congratulations. I'm sure whoever you decide to foster with will be most appreciative of the help. You will find fostering very rewarding. It is wonderful to watch sad, neglected, or abused chins turn around with proper care and attention. Good luck.

We don't have any "true" rescues in PA who have say their 501 status... Mostly just breeders who take the occasional rehome in. There is apparently "the gress mountain ranch" in orefield who takes in exotics, and has a few chins here and there. I saw them posting on craigslist asking for cage donations--maybe try them too?

Any of the ones in PA has closed. Any that I did find. I want to work with a well established rescue. The one I found in Fredrick md seems amazing. They even cover the vet bills from my understanding. I am waiting for them to contact me back. I am so excited.Megan, I will deff look into that ad well. Thank you. Thank you all for the support. And obcsed it is an amazing feeling. Just about all that I have now were neglected and now are the sweetest things. I have one who is special needs, when I got him he was pretty much immobile, I have a special cafe for him, and put a lot of time into physical therapy so to say he now let's nothing slow him down. He was what made me want to do this. :) I can't wait.

How exciting! I hope that rescue contacts you!

i fostered a couple. it was really difficult to receive them in such neglected condition; underweight, severe matting, anti social but so rewarding when they turned into the beautiful chins they were meant to be. i must say i shed tears when they were rehomed. it was really hard to let them go. you should go into every foster with the thoughts that you helping them get better for their forever home because the minute you consider them your pets......they will be!! ;)

so true! Rhino, my first chin, was 'supposed' to just be a foster, but by day two or three i knew he was here for good :))

Lol, I do fear that already. But I chose to foster instead of run a rescue because I want to be able to spend enough time with them all, and still have time for my own chins as well. So if I just keep that in mind I think I will do just fine. I hope. lol. I have a soft spot for the furry little buggers. :)
