I'm looking to buy some this week and I'm not really sure which ones and which size is best. I'm only feeding one chinchilla so I'm not really sure if I should get two medium sized ones or one big one or two big ones or what.

Why do you need two food bowls for one chin?

My favorite are the coop cups that bolt to the side of the cage. So far my girls have not learned how to knock them out of their hanger although some chins do that.

I would get one meduim for a single chinchilla. Unless you are giving suppliment if you are then one meduim for the food and one small for the suppliment as if you sprinkle it on their food they do not eat the food just dig around for more suppliment

Ok thanks for the info. I'm not really sure which ones I'm gonna buy yet but I'll figure it out soon enough.

Get a feeder attached to the wire cage. That way you can feed them from the outside without having to open the door and check how much food they have and to feed them as well. If you get a bowl for the cage then make it a heavy one as they will turn it over while playing with it. Also consider some chins will sit and pee in the bowl and some have even been trained to pee in a bowl/corner this way so that you only have to clean out one corner of the cage.

Are you referring to having a food dish and a hay bowl? If so, when I had my first chin we had one small, deep ceramic dish, and I've traded that for stainless steel coop cups. And two fairly large ceramic dishes for hay, one on each level. I try to have multiple hay dishes and boxes, chins sometimes soil their hay.

I personally prefer the coop cups that bolt to the side of the cage as well. It takes them off the floor and makes it difficult for my girls to flip over. As for the hay, I have a hay holder that attaches to the outside of the cage.
