I just got Allie's flying saucer (and tons of other goodies) in the mail today. I ripped that box open and dug for the saucer. I wanted to get it installed into Allie's cage with hopes that she would check it out before she went of to sleepy land in her fleece tube. Well, she did sniff it out and lounged under it a bit...while chewing on the wooden prop block. LOL!

My question is...are they any tips or tricks in getting her to explore the FS? I know it can take time for them to use it but I was hoping it would take less then more.

Also, are there any pointers on mounting it to the cage? I have the FN 142 and I find the U bolts keep rotating around.

Thanks!

You can put in a pine block of wood underneath the arm to help absorb some of the movement. Adding extra u-bolts also helps keep the Saucer in place. It definitely shouldn't be moving around at all. I never used any trick to get my guys to learn how to use the Saucer but it did take a bit more time for them to figure it out than they did the Chin Spin.

I have mine an a FN142 and I made sure that one of the u-bolts was at a joint in the wire (where the horizontals and verticals cross) and went diagonal through it at the top corner of the assembly. That held it pretty securely. I also put a block of wood under the bottom arm to help with the vibrations. I also ended up putting some Lock-tite on the nuts to that they would not back out as he ran.
