I don't make them myself, but I have a LOT on hand, lol. We use them all the time, the girls love them even on cooler days.

Inside out, so you can see the stitching:

Close up of how the flap is sewn:

Are they double layered? I think I'm going to make some today. Do you put a cold water bottle or frozen in them?

Mine are single layered, and you put a frozen water bottle in and then flip the top flap over to cover it completely. Then the chins rush over to drape themselves across it so their bellies stay nice and cool, lol.

Thanks so much ladies!! I'm off to the sewing machine cause it looks like this railroad may start running express!!!!:)

Cool concept. I wonder if it would make more sense to size them to accept standard cooler ice packs? Those would be flatter and I would hope last longer frozen since I believe they are not using a pure water filling. Then again no idea if the contents of those packs is considered toxic or not to humans, let alone chins.

I've heard of someone using those before, but the chins managed to push the fleece aside, and they chewed through to the gel, which is not good for them.

That probably was me who had the buggers that wiggled into the fleece flip over case and nibbled through the hard plastic pack to the blue goo which is supposedly non-toxic to humans but worried the bejeezus out of me.Answer to that problem for me was metal tins(I actually found some for .50 cents at the Habitat Store). The packs go in there and the tin tops are snugged really tight, then the fleece cover goes on. No problems since.;)

I don't have them on my site, but I can and have made them if someone is still looking for some. I normally charge $5 per cover.
