I recently purchased three new chins. they grew up together, so they already know eachother. One of them comes to me when i open the cage the other two dont. I am wondering when i should start their playtime (i brought them home three nights ago), how i should get them out of their cage, what i should do during playtime, and how i should get them back in the cage.

Thanks for the Help.

You can start playtime whenever you think they're ready. However, it needs to be in an enclosed space where they can't get into too much or a very chin-proofed room. Since they're new to you i'd try a bathroom so if need be, they're always very close by. If you decide a bathroom's not a good play place for you.. you will need to probably get a gate to close off part of a room and keep out any wires or whatever else they shouldn't get their hands on. As for getting them out, for a while just open their cage door and let them come on their own pace. be very patient. talk to them calmly and softly. Eventually they'll be comfortable enough and get used to playtime hours. During playtime, you can just sit on the floor and let them run on you when they want to. Don't try to grab them. You can provide some chew toys. To get them back in, you can try a dust bath or just trying to scoop them up until they get used to treat noise or dust bath noise. Good luck

Normally people suggest a 1-2 week "shut down" period. During this time, you just feed/water them and let them get to know you, without actually holding them/grabbing them. Let them get to know you, and they'll eventually learn to trust you. I would give them atleast a week to adjust to the surrounding, and settle in before bringing them out.

Also, they aren't used to getting playtime, so I'd start off slow and let them adjust to that.
