First Chin

Hi. I got a chinchilla off criagslist (yes, I know, but it worked out very well) over 3 weeks ago. Reading this forum helped a lot and still does. She's a standard grey, her name is Chloe and she was advertised as a year and a half old. I really like having her around.

But I totally don't fit in here. I'm just here to read posts. I don't communicate in emoticons or acronyms (I have no idea what IMO or TBH means). I do love pictures, though--they're kinna hard not to. And parentheses. I love parentheses...but that's just me.

So I've found myself freakishly logging on here almost everyday. I have replied to posts a handful of times (I'm pretty sure like six times today...I know, it's sad) and even started a thread or two. I started using a couple of the online stores listed here to buy more chinnie stuff, too!

I think I'm...becoming one of you. It's a little scary and a bit confusing, but I can't stop myself from logging back in and browsing.

Sorry for not having any pics, I only have a camera phone and the 2 pics I have from them are on my profile. I seriously need a camera.

I hope you like it here. You will be one of us...one of us.... (Like a zombie in with the little zombie herd?) Honestly, sometimes I have no idea of what the little acronyms mean and I probably make people wonder what is wrong with me because that very reason makes me respond strangely. I do like the emoticons because they let me off the hook sometimes - people will know that I am just joking. I think that they can add to understanding what someone is saying.

Anyway, stick around...freakishly checking on your forums is normal. We all do it, but we don't all to admit to it. (The first step is admitting you have a problem...)

Hey welcome! I don't understand acronyms either and I hate emoticons. But if you want the best of the internet, regarding chinchilla information, this is where you want to be.

and it's basically a rule that you post pictures. Sorry. (just kidding you don't have to.... but I really really want you to...)

Also, I think it's good you used Craigslist! I find so many chins on there who currently belong to total idiot owners and am always terrified they'll just go to a new idiot owner... I'm glad you adopted your chinnie friend!

For the record, tbh is "to be honest" and jmo is "just my opinion". Those are pretty much the only two I know.

Glad to be able to help. My personal favorites are FCOL and ROTFLMFAO. We even have an emoticon for the second one :rofl:, though his bottom remains firmly attached.

I don't post that much either but I'm on here everyday. When I first got my 2 chin girls (just over a year ago - from Craigslist also) I bought them everything under the sun for their cage. I'm starting to taper off now because I've got so much stuff I can't even fit it all in their cage....and now I know what they like and what they ignore.
