Fidgeting

So, I recently was diagnosed with adult ADD. My doctor gave me adderal, which really helps me focus, and get things done, but it makes me so fidgety. I'm always picking at my fingers or tapping my foot. It doesn't really bother me, I just thought it was odd. Has anyone else had this affect from ADD meds?

Maybe tell your Dr. - a slightly smaller dose may eliminate that - "fine-tuning!"

We just upped my dose actually, but i was fidgety before we up it too. When I told him he just kind of chuckled and said it would get better. I think he was busy that day because he didn't stick around to explain.

since adderall is actually an amphetamine or stimulant, i would think that nervousnous or fidgeting as you describe is a side effect.
i would give it a bit to kick in and level off and if the benefits of the drug outweigh the side effects than stay on it, if not there are plenty other ADD meds that you can try.

I don't have any input on the drug, but make sure you get the answers you want from your doctor, even if you have to call him back in! Busy or not, you're paying good money for just a little bit of his time!

mishellyshel - I think you are probably right because later in the day i'm not as fidgety. I just always though it was because it had worn off already. The benefits definetly outweigh the side effects, I get so much more done everyday, and i never day dream in class any more! haha. I feel like one of those smart students in class.
