lol...i took out a loan for my cages lol..i couldnt pass it up, im buying all my cages pans and liners at once!! i was planning on getting ferret nations anyways but i couldnt pass up this killer deal!!! lol and i was not taking it out of my money for vet emergencys so the loan was my only option lol

I used my credit card... ARGH! Oh well, I couldn't help it! My husband said to get two...

I purchased 4 new ones from Petsmart about a week ago. I also have a used one from craigslist. I ordered my tubes, and fleece liners. I also ordered 1 pan from KW cages to see how they turn out then I'll order 9. Almost all my cages are from KW cages and I like their pans better then Bass.

I ordered them from threewingedfury on here she's suppose to start making them today. I placed an order for 10 - liners and tube covers.

I posted a thread in this same forum topic... It's about fn cages... Haha

Chinchillalover - I'm sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious here, but your intention is to breed your chins. You realize that the ferret nation cages are 100% not suitable for that, right? You would have to wrap them in cloth, which isn't a permanent fix, it's a temporary one.

I wasn't sure if these were for your breeders or not, so I wanted to point that out.

I plan on wrapping mine in hardware cloth (wire). I attach with craft wire. I have done this with many of my cages. I am replacing some of my cages that are over 15 years old with the FN cages

When I had my rats in my FN I had to put the hardware cloth on.

Before Little Man past away I took it all off except for the back (helps with poop control )

I didn't think to see if anyone on here would want it since it is all cut to size and just needs to be attacted

I guess I need to go find this hardware cloth. I hear that FN's are messy and that the pans are kind of expensive... I have 3 chins. Two are bonded brothers and the other, well he hates other chins. LOL! I only know that because the breeder I bought it from had given it to another breeder's daughter for a pet. She put it in with her other chin and he beat the other up very badly. Anyhow, can you cut wood and use that instead of having to buy new pans? I am so nervous about getting these cages. My boys don't chew plastic, but I want to have a solid floor in the middle incase of a fall... I guess I should go look at pictures, but I am just nervous...

Maybe I'm just OCD because I vacumn up the poops every other day:innocent:

So I don't have a problem with the mess.

I have the bass pans and the ones that came with the FN. I actually like the plastic pans because I make my fleece covers like pillow cases over the pans.

I could see if you didn't use fleece where shavings would make a mess with the plastic pans.
