Tonight at about 8:00 when I was changing their hay, I notice Gumby's right eye, had a whitish discharge in the bottom eyelid area. Not just in the corner, but the whole of his bottom eyelid had it.
He didn't seemed to be bothered by it at all, I took a look again half an hr later, and it had gone, or maybe just smudged into his fur and the bottom of his eye.
First thing that came to mind was an eye infection or inflammation of some sort.
Anyway, after their dustbath and run around time, I checked out his eye again, and the goobs have completely dried up, and looks absolutely normal, he was a good boy and let me fiddle with eye for bit, and I didn't notice any abnormalities at all. And nothing is coming out of his eye anymore.
So my question is, is it something that I should be worried about, it's 10:30 here now, just checked on him again, nothing abnormal. But worried that he's got an infection since the discharge is whitish.
Can this kind of thing be a one time thing? Maybe he jabbed himself in the eye with something, or got some pumice into his eye?

Just keep an eye on him. Dust baths can make an infected eye look better for awhile but you will notice discharge the next day again usually.

I Checked on him again this morning, everything seems normal, no more discharge coming out of his eye, or wet fur underneath. I was thinking the same thing, if he had an infection, the discharge would keep coming, wouldn't it? But it was only a one time thing for him, I haven't noticed it since.
I will sure keep an eye on him, but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of 'one off' incident.
Thank u for your reply,Stacie :)

Sorry for posting twice in row, but I forgot to ask, if he was to have an eye infection, the signs wouldn't be this hard to find, would it?
I've been staring at his eye for the last half hr trying to find any abnormalities, but I see nothing.
I'm hesitant to take him to the vet if there isn't anything wrong with him, I dun want to give him extra stress and it's boiling hot outside.
Can eye infections, if it is, clear up in one day? It just seems really odd to me....
