Ewwww... Retailers Resell Used Underwear

This just in from the Department of Ew: Your favorite lingerie shop might be reselling USED underwear. In a "Today Show: Secret Filth Exposed!" segment, reporters purchased underwear and bathing suits from eight popular retail stores, removed the tags and even stained them with baby oil, and then tested which stores would take the items and put them back on the shelf. Although the practice isn't necessarily illegal, there could be health implications. Check out this super-gross, but super-important clip.

Stores around here don't allow returns on underwear and swimwear, not even childrens.

suddenly i am glad i am practical and buy comfy undies in packages at target or walmart.
and even still i wash them first! yuk!

I was buying undies for a friend of mine at the store and I had to open a package right there to see how big it was... I didnt know her size and couldnt ask her because she wouldnt answer her phone.. So anyways.. People do that crap all the time.. There were already several open packages when I got to that area.. So how do you know that someone did open them up try them on and put it back in the package.. you can easily open the packages with out ripping them.

you can tell when the package was opened ( you can never roll them the way they were and the package just looks opened), however; the percentage of people that would try on a pack of panties in target vesus vic secret is pretty slim.
and i dont really buy the granny ones, i just prefer the cotton low cut ones. but i would still wash them. AND i if i try on a bathing suit..........i do so with my undies ON!

I dont feel them all over, NASTY!!! I opened it to see how bog they are.. My friend is not a skinny mini and I wanted to make sure what I bought her would fit and be comfortable..

BTW They totally fit her! Im an undies GOD!.

I open packages too if there are none on display. You can't tell from a package what size they are and when they can't be returned what choice is there. Some stores are smart and have one on display.

That is smart! Must be a Canadian thing.. Either that or they dont care because you CAN exchange them here.. I was always under the understanding that you could NOT exchange undies here.

I know I tried to return a pack to walmart a while back that I bought and they wouldn't take them. The package looked unopened, and the panties looked like they were untouched, but when I unrolled them on of the pairs was visibly smaller than the other two in the pack by about an inch to inch and half. I dont know if someone swapped them or if they were just packaged in correctly but I did find out my walmart wont take panties back.

And I agree w/ everyone here that washes everything before they wear it. Some people are gross and you never know what could be on your clothes.

I worked in a lingerie department for 5 years. The store is very lenient when it comes to customers returning things. I would have to take back ratty bras and underwear that someone wore for 6 months and then decided that they were defective. Ridiculous, really. But we never put any of that stuff back out on the selling floor. If something had obviously been worn, we would print up a damage ticket and the item would be sent back to our distribution center to be disposed of. If someone wished to try on undies or swimsuits, they had to do so over their own. I don't know, I guess everywhere is different when it comes to those types of policies.

I know VS has a guarantee on thier bra's swimsuits and clothes but Im not sure about their panties but I cant see why they wouldnt take them back since they take back everything else. Amost makes me wonder about those free panties they give away ever so often.. if they take all the returns and "give them away":vomit:

OMG...ew!!!!

I always dig for the "newer" looking items and check to make sure they look untouched. And of course I ALWAYS wash them before wearing them. OMG....so gross!!!!
