Electrical Cord

I accidentally left an electrical cord dangling next to my chinchillas cage(not plugged in). When I went to give him some hay this morning I found that he had shredded a good portion of it, and probably ingested alot of it.

What do I have to look out for to make sure he is not sick from it?

Personally, I would take him to the vet. Chins do eat some plastic here and there from tubes and whatnot, but a lot....I would worry about. If metal wire was involved I would especially worry. If you want to monitor, make sure he is eating, drinking, and pooping normally. Also, activity levels are the same. Watch for different sized poops and lethargy. Anything abnormal, personally, I would take him to the vet.

Thanks for the reply Seachin. Last night he came out and was actually more active than normal and went to the bathroom alot. I will continue to keep an eye on him.
