Do any of you notice a change in the eating habits of your chins when the seasons change?
It's been chilly here the last few days and it seems like Orin is eating more.
:hmm:

Yes they seem to eat more and weights go back up in the winter time around here. Around here summer weights go down and they do not seem to eat as much. It is really odd as the barn temp stays the same year around. I sometimes think it has to do with the quality of grain going into the pellets as when fall approaches so do the new fresh crops of grain and that’s when they seem to eat better and have better weight gains. It could also just be mother nature and their instincts telling them to fatten up for the winter.

I would guess when it is cold they are more active and hence need more calories.

Ditto what JAGS said. I definitely notice a change throughout the seasons, not just in eating, but in drinking as well.
