Eastern Iowa/Western IL

Hi! I don't know many people in the area who have Chinchillas. Most people I know don't even know what a chinchilla is (one of my friends thought it was a type of dog! LOL). I was wondering if anyone knows of any vets in the Eastern, Iowa/ Western IL area.

If not, how do you find a vet that is familiar/experienced with chinchillas?

Not sure how far away from Skokie IL you are (It is near Chicago). I use Chicago Exotics Animal hospital. And they are phenomenal! I worked there the past 2.5 years as a CVT and can tell you first hand how compassionate and dedicated the staff is to exotic medicine. I no longer work there due to the commute but I still make the drive for my kids even though there are a few clinics closer to me. They also have a holistic Dr. that does acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments there. And compared to most exotic hospitals they are very affordable.
