dry ears?

When we got Cindy her cage hadn't been cleaned for an entire year, her fur was awful and she had "freckles" on her ears. The closer I looked it looked like they were a little dry. When I went downstairs this morning I noticed that her left ear was a little red. It doesn't look like a fungus or anything, just really dry. Is there any lotion or cream that would be safe to rub a little on her ears?

Bag Balm is safe to rub on their ears. Had she just woken up when her ear was red? What color is she? Some chins to have freckles. One of mine does.

Can you post pictures of her ears. Bag Balm won't clear up fungus.

Sorry they're so bad. You can't really see the red from the pics cause its on the opposite side of her ear. The dark areas are the dryness.

I believe you have a beige. They have freckles on their ears, they are normal. If her ears are just dry, you can use bag balm on her ears (as Cindy suggested) to help with the dry-ness.

If you don't have bag balm you can use petroleum jelly and rub it in good. That's the base of bag balm

Bag Balm can be found at a feed store or pharmacy. I get mine from the pharmacy at Target.

Could Vaseline be used for dry ears?

Okay, I'll try target and walgreens tomorrow. She's a beige?!? I thought they were a tannish color but then again I don't know much about coloring ( I see a chin and think it's a standard but it's really a light ebony or something. haha) If I post better picks could you guys tell me? I just found a sight with pics of all the different colors and that saphire looked the most like her.

beige chins are greyish with a lighter undercoat and pink ears,alot of them have dark grey to brown freckles on their ears my kishi is a beige and she has freckles on her ears,her ears had also been chewed when she was a baby , before i got her, and she has little nicks in her ears that often get dry around the edges.

My beige chins have freckles on their ears too. I always thought chins were supposed to have naturally dry and paper like ears. Unless its skin is flaking off....

Did you get your chin from a breeder? they should know what her mutation is.

Okay, those desciptions fit. I guess she is a beige! Haha, I still think I'm going to get bag balm because they are definitely dry and they are a little red plus it couldn't hurt. She is a rescue so no breeder to tell me.

I thought that she looked like a beige, too. Those ears are a dead giveaway.
