So some of you may know I've been having some "female" plumbing issues for well over a month. In 15 minutes I'm on my way to the doctor and I'm pretty darn nervous. Most of you know my sister, Lisa, is not doing well at all and is terminally ill. My mom, sister Lynelle, and I have been caring for her 24/7. I simply CANNOT have surgery at this time because Lisa needs to be the main focus of my life.
I'm worried about completely falling apart at the doctor's office when he asks me what's wrong. He's the best OB-Gyn there is and I'm not just saying that, I worked for him for a couple of years 10 years ago and really know wht I'm talking about.
I'm hacked off I have to go in weighing as much as I do and really I have SO much crap going on. My sister is dying, I'm bleeding like a stuck pig and I'm a fat cow.
Funny thing is I'm not afraid at all that he'll find cancer because I just know he won't. Even funnier thing, I'm not afraid of cancer even though my sister is dying from it. I guess I just know the end result and should it happen to me then I will again be with her so to me that's not such a bad deal.
Keep your fingers crossed the birth control he put me back on is working and will stay working and I'm just an "old" lady who's body is starting to go through change!
I'll try to let everyone know what's going on later but honestly I didn't sleep well and only got 4 hours of sleep and I have to go into work tonight.
Just wanted to share my nervousness! And always thanks for listening!

Aw good luck Laurie, I know you don't need more going on right now, so saying a prayer for you!

So what they say is true then.."If you don't use it, you lose it." Aw Gawd, just trying to make you laugh! Hmm I think I'll have to place a singles ad for you; SWF ISO Elvis impersonator, must love God, family and chinchillas.
You're in my thoughts Laurie, (hugs) Theresa

Good luck. If it is any help my mom bled for like 2 months non stop when the change started. You will be ok, all the stress cannot possibly be helping the situation either. Hang in there You are in our thoughts around here

Oh Laurie, I am so sorry! I know it will be ok, and am praying for you. It is a lucky day today, my surgeon is finally operating on me! Hugs and prayers and well wishes.

Doc appt went okay. Of course he recommened hysterectomy but totally understands my desire to do everything else first. We're trying the 3 month bc pill. I go back in a month so hopefully I'll have no bleeding from now until then.
I did have biopsy done today but I'm not worried about the results at all.
No my blood pressure was another story! 146/80! So I hope that was just anxiety and it better be down the next time I see him.
Thanks for your well wishes and I'll keep everyone posted!

Laurie, I'm glad that everything is OK.

Before you say no to a hysterectomy, please know that I suffered with severe periods, cramps, clots, etc. for years, simply because I didn't know that it wasn't "normal".

After my hysterectomy, or, as I call it, "The Happiest Day of My Life - EVER!!!" at age 51, my doctor said that I could have done it easily 20 years ago. I had everything BUT cancer -- fibroids, endometriosis, etc.

It can be done vaginally and the recovery is not as difficult as if you had it done through your abdomen. Don't get me wrong -- it's no walk in the park, but in the long run, seriously, I wish that I HAD done it 20 years ago!!! My quality of life is SOOO much better.

I'll keep you and Lisa in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm betting you will be fine. What you described is the way things went for me for a while. The BC pills set me right and I have been 'period free' ever since. Good luck, keep us posted.

Well Carol you better hope I am fine otherwise I have to recoup at your house! Since mom is closing the doors on Taylor Avenue LOL! I just read it's all right to take ferrous sulfate 3 times per day so I'm going to do once every 8 hours and see if that helps get my hematocrit back up to par.
And then hopefully I won't be Twilight white anymore either!
I do feel better and no bleeding after the biopsy which I so afraid of as I'm trying to stop that!!!!

Laurie, I am sure you'll be fine! Hopefully the pills will work for you :). I'm sure the BP was high because of the stress you are under, having to go to the doctors etc.

Keep us updated, and best wishes! *hugs from your loving "daughter"*

I'm sorry you're going trough this, specially with your sister's illnes on top of that. I wish you the best. When I wasn't on BC, I used to have long and heavy period with cramps on top of that. It was so bad I'd wished (at that time) to have hysterectomy. I'm glad BC worked for me and I hope it will for you.

OOH what service! My doctor, the fabulous Stuart Fox, just called and my hematocrit is up to 32.4 norm for women is 35-46 so that's not too bad. My throid is fine dang it! I was hoping that's why I was so fat, but alas it's just me.
Insurance is covering the Seasonale he's putting me on my cost is 80 bucks which to me to not have a period is worth it!
Now we're just waiting the biopsy results, but as I said earlier not afraid of these results at all.
I'm feeling better and stronger everyday so hopefully it will continue!
Many thanks to my forum friends who offer support and advice!

Laurie, I HATED those pills. I don't know why doctors always prescribe those pills when any BC pill can be taken that way and you won't get your period. Anyway, it does seem to be a first choice when trying to fix any womenly problems, so maybe there is a reason I don't see. Anyway, I would try that, don't give up, and it will get better. Hun, your stress alone could be causing all this times ten. My blood pressure went from great and healthy to high as can be- much higher than yours, and it is from pain and stress. If this pill does not work I would ask for Allesse, it is very low hormone and doesn't mess with my body as much as the other ones do.
