I'm working on re-introing the boys. Right now we're doing bathroom playtime, and they're still trying to establish dominance. Is it normal for the 'alpha' to eat the fur that has been slipped by the more submissive chin?

I have seen chins eat their slipped fur before - even single chins, so not sure if it is alpha related or not Brittany. I don't have any scientific information to back this up but I chalked it up to the fact that they are prey animals and this is their attempt at hiding any evidence that they have been in the area??? Just my opinion.

Interesting. I've heard of chins trimming whiskers to show dominance, but I'd never seen a chin eat fur until last night. I'm sure they ingest some while grooming, but this little dude was scouring the bathroom for any tufts he could find.

That's kind of... odd. Though, my dog does that with any fur she can find on the floor when she's trying to throw up and can't get to grass.. it's pretty nasty. I guess they eat their own poop, why not fur?
