I seriously HATE cleaning my dogs blankets and beds to the point that I'm seriously considering just toss the old ones each time they need washed and buying them new ones.

I have 3 dogs that sleep in a crate, of their own. 2 have fleece blankets in them and one has a fleece dog bed. The other 2 dogs sleep in their doggie room with 2 dog beds, then we have 2 dog beds in the living room.

Everytime I wash them I can never get all the hair off of them. It drives me crazy. I soak, pre-wash, then wash, then rinse a 2nd time, to make sure they are clean. Then I dry them 2 or 3 times.

I can't ever seem to get the dog hair off of them.

So I need ideas, tips, suggestion on how to get the hair off. Or even how you wash your dogs bedding.

Do you spray it off first? Hand wash first? What do you wash it with? ...etc

I've noticed that hair removal depends on breed of dog sometimes. Some things work better for my short hair dog, and others for my husky. I've always used Duct Tape to get hair off of fabric. I just get the Real stuff (Not the Dollar Store junk) and take strips and put it against the fabric. When you peel off, many times the hair comes with it.

I also vacuum my dog beds. I just lay them on the floor, stand on a corner/side and run over it with the vacuum.

Also, just taking in outside and shaking it / beating it against a tree can be helpful.

With all/some of these methods used, then I just wash them like any other laundry.

I have 1 fleece and 3 from Costco dog beds I usually take them to the laundry mat never had problems with the hair. I can't wash them at home since my washer isn't big enough. I wash them once a month. The longest hair dog we have is an American Eskimo.

I have Chihuahuas. My 3 older males shed more than than my younger male and my female.

The ones I've had the worst trouble with are the 2 fleece blankets. I took them outside yesterday, shook them off, and sweep off what I could.

Someone suggested the Schticky or The Sticky Buddy. Anyone tried those?

I stopped giving my dogs fleece blankets, and even stopped using them for us because the dog hair just never comes off in the wash. Only the chins have fleece around here and I lint roll theirs when it comes out of the dryer. I usually just throw the dog beds in the washer with tide and then the dryer. But I have small dogs, so it's easy.

I can never get all the hair out of the fleece blankets. I use old comforters for my dogs now and the hair comes off easy. When I get a new comforter, the old one goes to the dogs :)

My favorite dog bed so far for the hair is one I got at Fleet Farm, not sure if they have them by you or not. But, the reason I love it is because the outside is nylon, like a slippery material. So all the fur simply slides off! It's awesome, I used to have fleece covered ones and I hated that! It's not the most fluffy thing, it was super cheap, around $10, but I figure if eventually it wears out I can just buy another. So my suggestion would be to look for ones with a nylon or other synthetic slippery material. (my dog is a lab/Irish setter mix so her fur is a mix of long lab like fur and fluffy)

well isn't Maya a spoiled princess! :)~

My little Taquela would love that, guess we know what she's getting for Christmas this year. lol

Of course she is spoiled, Stacey! She has ruled me since the day we brought her home! :) But she absolutely loves this, especially on the cooler days and nights. And I know Taquela would love it, too!
