So... I'm perusing the Denver CL and I see this ad saying : A banded dog tied to trash can... and I'm wondering exactly what "a banded" dog was! I think it's sweet this lady is helping the banded dog out... :thumbsup:

Hi everyone, I found this great loving and sweet dog that I call MAMA tied up to a trash can near a Petco. It looked like they took all of her puppies and then a banded her, she is about three years old, I'm not really sure what type of dog she is but she is an amazing girl who need a good home. No, silly, not THAT band. She's talking about the bands they put around birds' legs... so they can track them. They're doing it to dogs now... less expensive than the whole microchipping thing. Helps lessen their anxiety... they don't have to worry that there's some creepy government/alien tracking device implanted in their bodies. All they have to do is look down and see, yep, I've got a band on my paw.

Seriously, despite her creative use of the English language, I have to give the poster points for being clear. Some of those CL posts... you can't tell what they're talking about even when they manage to spell correctly. I hope the doggy finds a good home... sounds like maybe she was used for her puppies, then left

Yea, I do think it's great the lady took her in to find her a home. And that's exactly what I was thinking of when I saw banded, lol. My neighbors band their birds, they raise ducks, turkey's, and exotic pheasants they are all a banded.
