Does anyone make an "extendable" cage?

So i have been doing a lot of research lately on buying my first chin. The saddest thing I have seen is the limited cage options.

When I was younger I had hamsters and the cages I bought could be connected together and "extended" by tubing that pet stores sold. By the time I was forced to get rid of my hamsters (I was young and didn't change the cages enough, angering my parents) I had several "houses" all connected by tubing that I ran in fun ways between them so the little guys would have more room to play.

So i was wondering if anyone knew a place that sold housing like that as i like to be able to design fun cages for my pets, I just don't like the standard rectangle cages they seem so boring.

They do have the cages with plastic tubes like you are describing but...The problem you run into there is that chins like to chew plastic and this can cause serious health issues from them injesting it. There are however tons of fun and safe ways to "jazz" up the inside of the "boring" rectangle cages though... :) They have fleece covered tubes you can get that hang on the side of the cage. Under houseing and Supplies there is a FN thread where many have posted pics of how they designed their cages check it out ...really cool.

OHHHHHH thats why no one uses plastic tubes. Great info, thanks a lot. This is why I am on here soaking up info before I goto buy anything.

I have a tri level cage for my chin, and then have an attached playpen so she can come in and out of her cage as she pleases.

I agree that FN are the best way to have a cage you can expand - going up. If you "really" want a cage with tubes Superpen makes some - bout you would have to replace the tubes with PVC pipe... and I'm not really sure that chins would even like the "tubes" that much - the cages that have them are designed for ferrets who love tubes

Oh the chins like them alright - too much. Years ago I was given a cage with the tubes on the top of the cage. The chins love to go into them and it was almost impossible to get the little buggars to come out when you wanted to socialize with them. You had to stick a bendable stick or wire thru it to chase them out - sort of defeated the purpose (scaring them). Also I learn the hard way, they eventually chewed a big hole in it. Got rid of the cage and tell people to never get them for both reasons
