One of them was flagged for removal, but the other just said "looking for a smaller chihuahua. Temperament not an issue." Not sure what's wrong...did the first one say something different?

People who have snakes do not feed them dogs... rabbits and rats are much easier to find, for free even. That's just stupid.

That would be awful to feed a small dog to a snake. I would think that would be a hoax because why would anyone spend alot of money to get a dog to feed to a snake when you could get a mouse or something for so much less.

You know, now that I think about it, there's not as much 'meat' on a chihuahua as there is on a rabbit.

Riven, does your friend feed live rabbits or frozen/thawed? I guess feeding a live rabbit would be sad, too.

Thankfully most people who have reptiles are switching to frozen animals. The risk to their snakes is too high with the live prey in there. The rats and the rabbits bite the heck out of the snakes and can really hurt them.

There are those idiots though who think it's fun to watch the snake terrorize the rat. If I could find a cure for common stupidity, I'd be a bazillionaire.

Unfortunately, It has occured here where a young man would go to a pet shop and buy cats for his snake.

Obviously the owner did not know it was for his snake. So the first time she replaced that cat, for the young man said it had died within days. Another time it ran away and a couple other reasons. The owner started getting skeptical with the third one and finally got the truth out of the young man. She thru him out of her store and now she does not sell cats anymore.

He apparently enjoyed seeing and hearing the cat fighting for it's life.

So yes, I do believe someone would be demented to the point of buying a dog to feed to his snake just for the show.

Really really sick!

Ewww...that's just so incredibly wrong.

I've heard rabbits running for their lives and trying to get away from cats and coyotes. That is one of the worst sounds I have ever heard. And, listening to a kitty getting killed, that is just a sign of mental illness. Humans are supposed to be compassionate and care about all the creatures, not enjoy watching needless suffering. I know the snake needs to eat, but the animal fed to the snake shouldn't be terrified for the viewing pleasure of some sicko.

Actually, lots of people do not have their cats spayed and give the kittens to the pet stores to sell.
Generally, they will have them vaccinated and sell them for 29$ to 39$ .
Although more and more pet stores have them vaccinated, spayed and some declawaed and sell for 299$ approx. They hope to have people think twice before buying one and limite the careless breeding and stray cats. They figured it's not because it is a domestique cat that it should be bought without thought.
Alot of work is yet to be done to educate people who buy animals.

There's an organization around here that will come out and spay all the barn cats for you for free just as long as you keep them fed and try to vaccinate when you can. :)

$29 is a lot cheaper than the humane society for a kitty cat. :( Am I the only one who thinks that cats are just absolutely amazing? I don't get why anyone would harm them or neglect them in any way. My cat is one of the most loving little animals I have ever seen...he's so sweet, not so smart - BUT his instincts are great! :) There's a ton of barn cats out here, they are amazing, too. I tried for the longest time to keep them all spayed, but new mama cats show up every couple years and have little ones...I try to get them fixed but I know a few probably slip through.
