Someone here was able to answer this question for me years ago at the old forum. But now that it's gone, and i have forgotten the answer, I am stuck once again.

The story was about a girl who realized on Christmas eve that she forgot to mail her letter to Santa. She found it crumpled up in her coat pocket. She puts out a lunch and hangs her stocking

While flying over her house a curious/naughty bear in Santa's sack is trying to look out from the sleigh. He falls into her yard. He has an adventure through the house (he goes in through the cat door), eats Santa's lunch, and crawls into a teddy bear sized sleeping bag (the girl's stocking.)

I'm pretty sure it's a Scholastic book, and would've come out in the mid 90s.

The cover has a picture of the bear falling out of Santa's sleigh at night.

It's ridiculous that I can remember every detail about this book EXCEPT the title! If I am lucky enough to have my question answered a second time I will make sure to write it down and not rely on the internet to keep information for me.

Thanks guys.

No, but good try though!

Thanks for looking. I'm really hoping to get this book for my nephew now that he's old enough to be into Santa and the magic of Christmas.
