Mom came by today to work on the green "thingy" that went to the dumpster and back out again! She hated this thing and now look at it!

Here are some other things she created--all of this came from Lisa's house and reminds me of her:

The grouping on the wall in the kitchen:

She is SO detailed she took left over plant things and put them underneath the blue birds on the shelf for realism!

looks great! i have one of those willow trees that are in the second picture, except mine has white buds and is about 4 feet tall. they are so unusual and neat!
dont you love moms, and their ability to make the dinkiest stuff look great!

edit: i hope you didnt take that the wrong way... by "dinky" i meant something that you had originally wanted to throw away.

Here's some pics of the kitchen wall grouping and table with my fake grapes! I'm so glad she let me keep them!

Microwave cart from junk to treasure!

This is the huge picture we found at KMart for only $30--its' the reason the green "thingy" wasn't tossed out after all lol!

Here it is behind the couch--and check out my new pillows! We love the buttons of the side!

Laurie, can you plz send your mom over my way?! It looks great! What a nice place you have and how wonderful to have Lisa "with" you in your new place!

LOL she is on a mission now to get rid of my old microwave cart and get me a new one! this cart IS ancient as I brought it with me from my divorce which was 19 years ago. Next on our list is getting new vertical blinds. These ones are pretty old and former two tenants for sure smoked so they are yellowish. I'm going to try to see if I can unclip them somehow to clean them in the bath tub and see if that helps.

I've really enjoyed this time with my mom--she likes to talk about Lisa alot and I'm glad I can listen to her and share with her.

Despite our "clashes" over many things--and despite the fact she can and probably has driven me insane, my mom is the most wonderful and amazing woman, truly.

laur--i love the table set up next to the barrel. i love that whole look! everything looks fantasti. congrats on your new place.

i ran into this problem at my old apt. i went to target and got a really long rubbermaid tub, and filled it with bleach and water and let em soak for a while. it works wonders!

Laurie, I'm so glad you and your mom are bonding, I know you are treasuring these moments! I love how she has helped you decorate your new place especially with all the beautiful Lisa items. I think it looks great :D!
