I got the Ware Playpen and tonight is my second night using it. So far, so good. I had been using the cardboard playpen but I have been having problems with tape chewing, any little ripple in that tape and they are chewing away no matter how many other wonderful safe chew toys I put in there with them.

The first night, Maddie dug at the mesh door some but nothing that alarmed me. Also on the first night I left the top off (it is mesh and zips on). Tonight I put their maze in with them (turned it into a 2 story maze) so I did zip the top on since they certainly could jump out with the maze in there. I have not seen any digging at the mesh door tonight, they are way to into the maze to care. Even with the maze in, they have room to run around and popcorn but I would not want to try it with only 1 story, they would not have any room to run around.

The chin girls are in my office and when using the cardboard playpen I have still been closing the door to the room. The problem with that is I shut the cats out from their potty and there has been a few times that they have come running in here after I put the girls up like, "Dear me I have to pee!!" The cats have also been digging into the carpet outside the door (trying to dig their way into the potty ) I have been putting a bathroom mat down to help with that. The other problem with the cardboard playpen in here, is that any little quick thing that I may do while the chin plays, like put stuff in the dryer, or grab something from my purse etc, is really annoying because it is a BEAR to get out of the room! So the Ware playpen has been nice because I don't feel the need to shut the door, cats can come and go, I can run out of the room for a min without having to do an obstacle course.

The Ware playpen is also VERY easy to fold/unfold, floor is easy to Velcro down, top easy to zip on and it has been easy to scoop the girls up and put them back into their cage when playtime is over. The only thing I miss so far is with the cardboard playpen, the girls could go in and out of their cage, to rest, get some water etc. So anyway, two thumbs up so far for the ware playpen

Thanks for the review! I was actually debating on getting this myself. I have a Midwest playpen, but it's bulky and not easy to move from one place to another. I would like to have something I can easily take upstairs if I want and let my babies play in the evenings more. Right now, I am tied to the chin room at playtime, which makes the amount of time I can give very limited.

That is a really nice playpen! I too have the midwest playpen and its heavy and cumbersome to move! For now I just let Kunya run in our mud room, but I have to move everything he can get into out of the room and then move all the stuff back when playtime is over. That playpen would make my life SO much easier and playtime more interesting! I will definately look into the Ware Playpen! Thanks!

wow.......that is really cool. will have to look into that in the next few months. i can leave richie in the bathroom for a few minutes since he cant chew but stitch.......forget it! i cant leave at all. i usually only leave the bathroom to just wipe down their cage and restock it at night, so to have a playpen in the same room while i do that would be great. where did you say you got the cardboard play area for the inside??

I too have a midwest playpen, but as said above it's heavy. I checked Ebay and found this-- http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Blue-Pet-...trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1205|293:1|294:50 which is very similar to Ware popup playpen, but it doesn't have a zip on bottom. Does anyone own this and how do you like it? Without the zip on bottom, does it make a big difference when you clean? Had your chins ever tried to chew the seams?

for me, not having the zipper off bottom would be a huge pain. The first night I used it, I gave the girls bath time and when they were done, I took the bottom outside and shook it out. The second night no bath, but lots of poop of course so I took the bottom and poured the poo in the trash can. However if the bottom does not comes off, you could always vacuum it after the chins are done playing.

The one you are looking at is a little bigger than the Ware one, it is 2" bigger in diameter and 4" inchs taller.

I have not had any seam chewing and I believe Sandi has not either (3chinsowner) here is her info about the playpen
