I've had several people ask me to post some more pictures of my naked rat, Curly. So here he is! He now has a 'girlfriend'- Chloe- who is a spayed black & white rat. After a month of quarantine and slow introductions, they are happily living together and love to cuddle up in their cuddle cup & hammock together. I'll have to get some pictures of her!

A face only a mother & fellow nekkie rat fan could love!

As for my question- I have been noticing Curly has been getting more than normal dry skin lately. Is there anything I can do for him to help with the dry skin?

They are adorable. I'm glad you were able to find Curly a friend. I love Chloe's bent ear, it gives her character and look at Curly's face, he's so handsome. I love the tongue picture.

You can give a 1" square of bread with either flaxseed or olive oil on it a few times a week. It really helps with dry skin. Chloe can have some too, it will make her fur really soft and shiny. Make sure there is enough fat in his diet. Avocado is a great, healthy source of fat.

Thanks Meanie! I'll give him some when I get home from class. I'm sure he'll love it, & Chloe too. They are NOT picky eaters!

Oh- and they love avocado. I gave them some last week after reading about it on a rattie forum, and you would have thought they were starving when they ate it! They more of inhaled it... :D

Stacie! Welcome to the world of nekkid rats! Curly looks just like my Balzac (may he rest in peace!). That's a great tip from Meanie on the flaxseed oil on bread. Mine prefer it to the olive oil for some reason, so they have their own bottle of flaxseed oil since I am domestically challenged. My kids also like vanilla soy milk, scrambled eggs (which I make with a little of the flaxseed oil).
They are a cute pair!

I just love looking at his pictures! He is so...unique....cute, and just funny looking! He looks like he has a great sense of humor...lol. Thanks for sharing!

Awww... I am a big fan of the Nekkid bRats!!
Of course, I have a soft spot for hoodie kids, too ...since we seem to rescue a LOT of those!

I give my gang the "treat" that Meanie mentioned, but sometimes I rub a little on them ..like a massage ....Aleris used to love that ..or I just put some on their tail, if they've been slacking and not cleaning it properly (I'm sneaky!)

If you really want to see them inhale something, try making giving them baked sweet potato or yam. It's like crack to them.

Hehehe, I had a Balzac too. Flaxseed as the better choice of oils, but olive is a good second.

Nekkid! I love nekkid rats. Not that his new girlfriend isn't adorable too, but there's just something about a baldie, isn't there?

Avocado is the food of choice here, and they just about rip your fingers off when you hand them the bread with flax seed oil on it. When I went to the store (health food, all organic store) to buy my latest bottle of flax seed oil, it was like $14.00 for this leeeetle tiny bottle. I got to the register and they guy said "Yeah, kinda pricey, but if you use it sparingly and mix it in with your recipes it should last a while." I said "Eww, I'm not eating that crap. It's for my rats."

Hehe - shoulda seen his face. :)

:hilarious: That's priceless. I love freaking people out like that and watching their reactions.

Oh I love them both.....but nekkid Curly is especially adorable!!

They are beautiful! Makes me miss having ratties...maybe I'll have them again someday.
