Colour of chin?

Hey everyone,

Although I'm not new, I just picked up a sweet little boy today (from a very neglectful owner who had three big female chins, plus this little boy in one small cage). He is about 8 weeks old and I've named him Hiro.

My question is, what colour is he? He isn't quite standard grey or eboney because he is really dark around the head, but lighter around the torso, and has a white-ish belly. Is there such a thing as a black mosaic? His father was grey but his mother was ebony, so he's quite an interesting little fellow.

He is surprisingly outgoing, and although he doesnt like being touched yet he is already climbing onto my hands and trying to explore outside of his cage.

He is called a black velvet. Very cute!

It is a black, his back will get darker over time.

Unless his father's belly is dark, his father is also Black velvet. Black top, white bottom=black velvet.
I think all chin colors should have velvet tacked on the end, because it describes how they feel ^.^

I'm assuming by the labeling that the third pic is the father, the fourth is the mother.

I would have to see a better belly picture but he looks like a hetro Ebony to me.
