Clipper blade sharpening question

For people who use clippers, how much are you paying to have them sharpened? Also do you pay shipping or is it included?

Hedge clippers? - Sharpen myself, with a file!
Nail clippers? - I tried, and they cut afu!

I'm assuming you're talking about grooming clippers. I last had mine done about a year ago since I only groom my parents dogs. It was $8 per blade and $12 per pair of scissors. I actually used the guy that a nearby groom shop uses, so they let me drop off/pick up right from their shop since the sharpener comes to them.

My husband was paying $2 or $3 for clippers; $8-$12 for shears. Usually it was someone local so he wasn't paying for shipping or anything.

How long ago was that?! That's an odd price difference for shears and blades I think... because you have to take the blades apart and then put them back together, re-align them etc.

We've been paying$5.50/ blade, and $8 for shears. Plus shipping.
