choking???

My chin nemo was eating hay drinking water yesterday when he all the sudden groned for a couple times loudly and followed by non-stop coughing for at least 2 minutes. I was so scared and ready to call my vet, he stopped coughing and jumped on his wheel and started running. This has never happened to him before, was that choking?

sounds like a peice of food "went down the wrong pipe" so to speak, we had that happen with our guinea pig, scared the life out of us.

Sounds like he may have choked but was able to get it cleared on his own. Glad to hear that he is all right.
