Some of those look great, but I don't give my guys anything plastic except their PVC tubes, so a lot of the stuff toward the bottom of the cage are things I wouldn't use. I'm also not sure about the maize fibers in some of those toys. I've never read anything saying maize/corn cob fiber is okay for chins, but I do recall at least one list suggesting corn products should be avoided. Any thoughts on that?

I use the maize and seagrass mats. My chinnies like to shred them and I have had no problems with them.

While some of the toys are pretty neat, they are all a little pricey. I know someone on another website who makes similar toys for under $5.00

I make my own chinnie toys and buy the parts in bulk. Good places to go to are bird stores. Generally, wood that is safe for birds is safe for chins. ex. www.windycityparrot.com

I get the nickel chain and fill them up with willow balls, wooden blocks, cardboard tubes, etc with 1/4" holes, and once they are chewed down I just fill them up again.

Just a way to save some money, and it's fun to do too!
