Chinchilla keeps grinding its teeth?

My chinny, Mac, keeps grinding on his teeth and it sometimes looks like hes eating something but hes not. Does this mean he is happy or stressed?

My chinchilla Dotty grinds her teeth when shes nervous or in mood I was worried she had a problem with her teeth but she doesnt have any trouble eating and chewing on wood and pumice, i think as long as everything is normal in the eating and chewing department i woldnt worry too much.

If she is eating, drinking, pooping, peeing, maintaining weight, being her normal self, and no drooling, then I would not worry about. If any of these items are off, there could be something wrong.

My guy grinds his teeth any time hes amped up or excited/nervous. It woory the **** outa me sometimes. But basicly what cuddlebug said is true'
