So I got my chinchilla Tuesday and he is getting pretty used to me I would say. But he is eating his bedding and not his food.

What kind of bedding are you using?

I am using care fresh Ultra bedding

You'd probably want to switch bedding to shavings, I've heard alot about care fresh not being good because if they eat it, it can expand in their stomach, unlike the wood shavings.

Yeah, I would go with kiln dried pine if he's eating his carefresh. That or go with cage liners.

Agree with the above on carefresh. On the plus side pine and aspen is cheaper I use aspen for bedding in the glass litter boxes.

What kind of food are you feeding him? Keep in mind unless you're providing the same feed the breeder offers, it'll take him some time to get used to the new feed. Make sure plenty of hay is offered.
