Hey there everyone,
My little chinchilla, Hiro (10 weeks, black velvet), got himself into a pickle. He likes to sleep at the bottom of his cage and today, I found out that he slept in his pee. His whole chest and left arm are dry and matted from his pee.
Technically he (and his cage mate) are potty trained for peeing, and they go in a corner littler box filled with care fresh, so I don't bother covering the entire bottom floor of the cage in litter, but Hiro must have had an accedent today and now this happened.
So the obvious question is: how do I get him clean? He stinks and his pretty fur is all matted and since it's such a large area I'm afriad of getting him too wet. My roomate has a ferret and suggested I use her ferrets dry shampoo to get the stink and some dirt out, but I don't know if that is safe.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
